   • Adjust the height of the collection cup or the skimmer's internal water level to control the consistency of the skimmate. For darker, thicker skimmate, lower the cup or raise the water level. For lighter, wetter skimmate, raise the cup or lower the water level.
   • During initial startup or after cleaning, it is advisable to leave the collection cup off until the skimmer stabilizes and bubble production is consistent. Then, reattach the cup and make final adjustments.

• Skimmer Body and Pump Cleaning: Periodically, the entire skimmer body and pump should be disassembled and thoroughly cleaned to remove any accumulated algae, detritus, or mineral deposits. The external pump design allows for easy removal for this purpose. Pay close attention to the impeller and its housing, as blockages here can significantly reduce performance.
• Air Inlet Maintenance: Ensure the air inlet and any associated tubing are free from blockages or salt creep, which can restrict airflow and reduce skimming efficiency.
